How do I run the internet on Kali Linux in the VMware player?

I don't exactly know about the VMWare player, as I use kali linux in VMWare workstation. I have VMware installed on windows 8.1 platform. As soon as you connect your system to an internet connection through any means let it be ethernet or wifi. And if your Windows platform can access the Internet, then automatically your Kali Linux installed in VMware workstation gets internet access. If you still don't get internet access, try restoring the network settings to default in VMware which might be changed due to the installation of any third party softwares. You can do that in this way.

    Open VMWare workstation and make sure all the virtual machines  installed are powered off.
    Click on "edit" found at the top and select "Virtual Network Manager" .
    A dialogue box pops out, where you can find an option "restore default".
